We’re now only 10 days away from NetHui 2020, coming to you online from wherever you are in Aotearoa or the world!
This is a great chance to experience that special NetHui vibe from the comfort of your own home or workplace. Perhaps you haven’t had a chance to join us at an in-person NetHui before, and you’re wondering whether this event is for you?
The online format could be a great chance for you to “dip your toes” into the NetHui experience. We think NetHui is pretty unique, and it can be a bit of a surprise for people that are expecting a more traditional conference experience. Here’s what makes NetHui different:
- A programme that’s designed to explore an issue: don’t expect the same speeches that you’ve heard before. We look for interesting takes and angles at NetHui, and we don’t shy away from putting a challenging topic on the main stage. We don’t think you’ll hear these ideas for how Aotearoa can make the most of our Internet anywhere else, so come along if unique is your thing.
- It isn’t a passive experience: you’ll have the chance to contribute your viewpoint too. Two-way participation is also a quintessential part of the NetHui experience. While we are doing things differently this year to the online format, the opportunity remains for you to join one of the breakout sessions and explore the issue with the rest of the audience. Don’t worry if that isn’t for you either; there’s plenty of spaces for those quieter voices too.
- A chance to join together and make things happen: making change following NetHui. There’s plenty of examples of NetHui being the spark that started something bigger. This is your chance to get in on the ground floor, meet some like minded folks and make something happen to help New Zealand make the most of our Internet.
All that we need now is you! So if you’ve been unsure whether NetHui is for you, perhaps 2020 is a great chance for you to find out by coming to join us and seeing for yourself!
